With the last amendment, the minimum investment amount required to acquire Turkish citizenship by real-estate investment has been increased from $250.000 to $400.000. The amendment was published in the Official Gazette on 13.05.2022 and this new regulation will be effective as of 13.06.2022.
As of 13.06.2022, foreigners who are planning to purchase real-estate in Turkey in order to become Turkish citizens need to invest at least $400,000 in to acquire Turkish citizenship.
For the foreigners who purchased real-estate before 13.06.2022, this amendment will not be effective if they make their annotation applications until 23:59 on 12.06.2022. This annotation is about giving a commitment not to sell their property they bought for the purpose of acquiring Turkish citizenship for 3 years. However, if the annotation application is made as of 13.06.2022, in that case $400.000 will be taken into account as the minimum investment amount to be eligible to acquire Turkish citizenship.
